A Buddhist Centre in central London - this is all about 'context'! A religion from the East settling in the West is basically a minority settling in an alien environment.

The site is a void formed by a demolished building, with a reinforcement structure holding up the adjacent buildings. This structure is reused as the new building's primary structure, like an anchor for the Buddhist Centre: the concept of 'Old and New', and one cannot survive without the other!

'Rooms' are formed around it and linked by an external stair and landings. People circulate via this stair, rising to the sky and nature: a journey of enlightenment from outside the body to inner soul through meditation.
